2022 Whistling Eagle Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

A juicy, mid weighted Heathcote Cabernet that has a polished finish.

Deep midnight black core with a dark red hue. Aromas of dark plum, blackcurrant and liquorice show good elevation out of the glass followed by some vanillin cedar, gentle tobacco, earth and bay leaf notes. Juicy dark plum, red to black currant and red liquorice fruits are well fleshed in their feel across the mid weighted palate. Vanillin cedar, subtle earth and spicy bay leaf infusions lie in the background. Underlyingly fresh it has fine grained tannins and a polished finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

A love letter to Heathcote cabernet, acknowledging the special connection that the grape and the ancient Cambrian red soil enjoy. What a beauty, seamlessly coming together layered in fragrant black berry fruits, cassis, dark plums, dark roasting herbs, chocolate and woody oak spice. Palate is well structured in ripe tannins, something to build on for the future, but, in the meantime, it is smooth, long, leafy, ripe and utterly delicious. A mighty-fine cab. Drink by 2034.
