Dark red core with black toned edges and a dark red hue. The nose is greeted with a mix of sour, red and dried cherry aromas which intermix with earth, dried herb, subtle leather and spice notes. Generous dark, morello and dried cherry flavours are framed by a stern tannin structure which imparts a grippy feel. Dried herb, tobacco, earth and spice elements linger through the back half. Vibrant acidity with a chewy yet lengthy finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Other Reviews…..

I’m just a little bowled over by this. Structurally, this is quite superb. Yes, on first impressions, I saw some apple-like acidity, and a fairly light-on palate. But after, I don’t know, 45 minutes in the glass, wow, what a transformation. Rose petals and musk, red cherries and meaty spice, fragrant herb notes, and a wide spread of assertive tannin. It’s ultra dry in an ultra good way. It looks over at a flock of feeding pigeons and, elegantly, nonchalantly, throws a cat in among them, mostly for its rigid attention to flavour-drilled-but-refreshing tannin. If I was buying some of this I’d leave it alone for at least 12 months but, after that, I’d expect very good things. Traviarti is really going for gold with nebbiolo. Drink 2025-2030+
