2022 Terrazze Dell’Etna Carusu

Light to medium bodied with vibrant sour to red cherry, red liquorice and blood orange fruits, tangy acidity and slightly chalky tannins.

Made from 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% Nerello Cappuccio grapes this wine was aged for 6 months in wood and 24 months in bottle. Red to dark red core with black toned edges and a light red hue. Red cherry and red liquorice aromas have a leathery overlay with hints of blood orange, crushed rock, dried herbs and minerals also evident. Light to medium bodied, vibrant sour to red cherry, red liquorice and blood orange fruits meld into an earthy crushed rock, dried herb and mineral back drop. Tangy acidity with slightly chalky, graphite like tannins and a finish that’s both elegant and energetic.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

A dark profile here with tar and graphite as well as earthy, leathery tones. Light- to medium-bodied, this has a lot of sweet fruit on the palate, crisp acidity and velvety, flavored tannins. Chewy finish with aging potential, otherwise ready to drink now.
