2022 Tar & Roses Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir
Tar & Roses began life as a venture between the dynamic winemaking due of Don Lewis and Narelle King. Following the passing of industry legend Don, Narelle has now taken the reigns and has sourced fruit from the Mornington Peninsula to produce this excellent Pinot. Cropped at 2 tonnes per acre with 15% whole bunch fruit included in ferment, maturation took place in French oak hogsheads of which 20% were new for a period of 10 months.
An expansive, silky smooth Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir.
Semi translucent red to dark red colour with black toned edges and a light red hue. Displaying a perfumed like intensity alluring scents of violets red to dark cherries, strawberries and subtle anise leap out of the glass with some forest floor, clove and spicy cedar notes also evident. Delicious red to dark cherry and strawberry fruits are both juicy and supple in their feel. Subtle rhubarb, infusions of fresh herbs, clove, delicate anise, forest floor and spicy cedar elements sit discretely under the fruit. Expansive finish with silky smooth tannins, good freshness and a long refined aftertaste.
