2022 Ring Bolt Cabernet Sauvignon
A rich, mouth filling Cabernet Sauvignon that has a sturdy back drop.
Fruit for the Ring Bolt was sourced from a selection of sites, most being around the Margaret River’s flagship Wilyabrup sub-region, close to the Indian Ocean. Maturation took place in a combination of 10% new American oak barriques with the balance in one year and older American and French oak barriques for a period of 12 months.
Dense inky black colour with a dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced blackcurrant and ripe mulberry aromas are complimented by vanillin cedar, earthy tobacco, subtle black olive and bay leaf notes. Rich mouth filling blackcurrant and mulberry fruits overlay a cedary tobacco, earth and bay leaf infused back drop. Fine grained tannins finishing generous yet sturdy.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews….
With the challenges of the ’21 vintage behind it, this excellent value for money Margaret River Cabernet from the subregion of Wilyabrup is right back in form. It was a very good vintage for red wine and this one, which displays excellent structure and balance is a terrific example. Rich black fruits and a dollop of chocolate with that slightly saline minerality and subtle black olive adding complex nuances. One of the very best I have tasted in this line. Drink 2025-2035.
