2022 Peter Lehmann 8 Songs Shiraz
Rich and opulent with a long, seductive finish.
First produced in 1996, Peter Lehmann’s Eight Songs is sourced from old, low yielding vineyards in the Barossa with maturation taking place in French oak hogsheads (40% new) for a period of 14 months.
Dense inky black heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Liquorice, blackberry and dark plum scents waft through the nostrils with impressive intensity complimented by vanillin oak, earthy fennel, subtle dark chocolate and pepper notes. Rich, concentrated and opulent in its texture the palate is engulfed with sumptuous ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits. Earthy fennel, dark chocolate, vanillin cedar and pepper elements lurk underneath. Velvety yet underlyingly sturdy tannin structure. Outstanding depth and power with a long, seductive finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
