Brilliant pale straw colour with a watery hue. Elevated pear and green apple aromas are followed by some delicate honeysuckle and stony mineral notes. Rich, concentrated and shapely, delicious fleshy pear, apricot, honeysuckle, lime and green apple flavours power across what is a mouth filling palate. Lively acidity lends energy with some delicate cashew and stony mineral elements flaying off into the distance. Long, seductively glazed finish.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

A stony and minerally white with chamomille and hints of pears. The palate is concentrated and flavorful with fresh acidity. It’s layered and textured, with the inherent austerity that characterizes this type of wine in its youth. From a 90-year-old single vineyard planted mostly with rabigato in Douro Superior. Delicious already, but will improve with bottle age. Drink or hold.

Vines are over 80 years old. Tasted from a fairly small pour, and I’d have liked to have got to know it a bit better, but here we are.
Sea spray, lemon and green apple, aniseed and herb perfume, a little spice and nutty character. It’s tight and zesty, distinctly saline, but also has some nutty and creamy characters to offset, there’s some fine chalky grip, and a lively finish of excellent length. Distinctive. Such a great wine. A white Burgundy brother from another mother kind of thing happening here. Drink 2025-2033.
