2022 Juniper Canvas Tempranillo

Matured for 14 months in a mix of older 300 litre hogheads and 500 litre puncheons. Deep black core with a bright purple red hue. Ripe dark cherry and red liquorice aromas mix with vanillin cedar, earth and spice notes. Rich dark cherry, red liquorice and blueberry fruits carry medium body weight and a fresh youthful feel. Spicy vanillin cedar, fresh herb and delicate earth elements linger underneath. Slightly chewy tannins and bright acidity with a fruit driven, mid length conclusion.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

What’s great about the Canvas wines is that they're well made with an emphasis on drinkability. This joven style is jam-packed with exuberant red fruits, cherry-berry cola, sarsaparilla and those distinct woodsy spices, not from oak – just part of the variety’s DNA. It’s refreshing and vibrant, and the tannins are quite precise and a little textural. Loads of fun. Drink by 2028.
