2022 Heirloom Vineyards Assen’s Fortalice Chardonnay

Brilliant pale straw colour with highlights of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Elevated white peach, pear and lemon butter aromas are interlaced with hints of bees wax, nougat and spice. Light to medium weight the elegant palate features pear and nectarine fruits over delicate lemon butter, bees wax and stony mineral accents. Finishes dry with a citrusy freshness to the medium length aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

A contemporary chardonnay, on the lighter and edgier side, with considerable depth and complexity. Quince paste, truffled nuts, parmesan, vanillin oak and white peach riffs expand across an electric wire of acid. The composition, in harmony. The finish is long, consummate and impressive. Drink by 2023.
