2022 Domaine de la Mordoree La Reine des Bois Lirac
Rich, concentrated and chewy with a long, sumptuous yet robust finish.
A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. Dense midnight black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Pronounced aromas of black cherry and liquorice mix with black raspberry, scorched earth, dried herb and peppered meat notes. Rich, concentrated and chewy, the full bodied palate is awash with lush black cherry, liquorice and black raspberry fruits. Scorched earth, dried herb, leather and peppered meat characters form underneath. A firm muscular tannin structure is largely absorbed by the sheer wealth of fruit which is delivered with outstanding power and depth. Concludes long and sumptuous yet robust with a meaty texture.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

A seductive, serious and textural blend of grenache, syrah and mourvedre. The nose expresses notes of sweet cherries, roasted meat, dark plums, baking spices and a dash of cocoa powder. It’s full-bodied with finely grained tannins. Dense and harmonious with a focused finish of excellent length. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Lirac Cuvée De La Reine Des Bois checks in as 40% Syrah and the rest equal parts Grenache and Mourvèdre. It's a killer bottle of wine that has both red and black fruits intermixed with notions of peppery garrigue, flowers, melted licorice, and graphite. With a rare level of purity and precision, it's medium to full-bodied, has a supple, layered mouthfeel, fine tannins, and a great finish.
