Concentrated, powerful and supple yet energetically light on it’s feet.

Domaine Charles Audoin was formed in 1972 by Charles and his oenologist wife Marie-Francoise, starting with three hectares in Marsannay. Their holding has now grown to around 14 hectares that captures some of the best parcels in Marsannay. Their son Cyril joined his father in 2000, and is now in charge of both vineyard and winemaking activities for the Domaine. Cyril is increasingly focused on vineyard health, to deliver wines with pure varietal expression and a sense of place. They are among the most serious wines from the area, and while juicy and approachable young, have the capacity to age gracefully for many years.
Red to dark red core with black toned edges and a vibrant, light red hue. Perfumed violet top notes mix with red to dark cherry and strawberry aromas followed by some subtle anise, fresh herb, earth and spice. Boasting excellent intensity and power, juicy red to dark cherry and strawberry fruits bound across the palate. Infusions of fresh herbs, traces of anise, forest floor and spice sit in the background. Polished tannins combine with fresh acidity to form a long, supple and energetic finish.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 13%

Other Reviews....
Notes of liquorice and anise. A very elegant wine for this appellation that seems to walk on tip toe, feeling almost weightless in spite of the considerable concentration.

Aromas of cherries, red berries, peonies and spices introduce the 2022 Marsannay Cuvée Marie Ragonneau, a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine that's suave and charming, concluding with a saline finish. As usual, it's a blend of several old-vine parcels dotted around the commune.
