2022 Dicey Bannockburn Pinot Noir
Rich, supple and spicy with silky smooth tannins and a long moreish finish.
This is the project of brothers Matt (The Caretaker) and James (The Grower) Dicey, who are as much part of the Bannockburn landscape as the world-class pinot noir that grows there. In fact, much of it wouldn't be there without the Diceys – their viticulturist dad, Robin, has been a key figure in pioneering the region to where it is today.
Made with 10% whole bunch inclusion and 11 months maturation in French oak (27% new). Semi translucent red to dark colour with black toned edges and a light red tinged hue. Fragrant red to dark cherry, strawberry, anise and rhubarb aromas blossom from the glass followed by some bramble, forest floor and spicy cedar notes. Rich, supple and spicy, the moreish palate is layered with an expansive flavour profile of spicy dark cherry, rhubarb, strawberry and anise. Silky smooth tannins with notions of brambly cedar, forest floor and dried herbs lending further complexity. Superb power wave with a long spicy red to dark fruited conclusion.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
