2022 Craiglee Shiraz
Rich yet savoury and elegant with a long, peppery finish.
Midnight black heart with a dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced blackberry and liquorice aromas infused with a mix of blackpepper, smoked meats, toasty vanillin cedar, black olive and clove stream through the nostrils with ample volume. Richly fruited yet simultaneously elegant and highly finessed in it’s flow across the mid weighted palate. Blackberry, liquorice and blackpepper flavours meld into a smoky vanillin cedar, scorched earth, black olive and spicy clove back drop. Slightly grainy in its feel with well integrated tannins and fresh underlying acidity providing great structure for longer term cellaring. Concludes long savoury and peppery.
Drink over the next 10-12 years,
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews……..
Glorious Craiglee shiraz. Nothing like it. This is incredibly fresh and lively, with wonderful aromas of florals and spice, especially black pepper, with dark fruit to the fore. It’s savoury and mid-weighted with textural tannins and lithe acidity. Quite delicious now, but as is the way with this producer, built for the long haul. Drink by 2038.

Proper stuff. Done the Craiglee way.
Moody, brooding, rich and grippy. A proper Craiglee release with all the mettle of a wine destined for dusty cellaring and a slow reveal of its potential. Chewy tannin laced with slate, smoky spice, dark cherry and stewed plum characters, black olive, choc-mint, clove, new leather and game meat all in abundance and yet controlled and flowing in a sumptuous slip. Flavour plus and coolness through the finish a boon. Big glasses, watch the evolution, hold tight to the six pack. Fantastic wine. Drink 2026-2040+
