Aged in French oak for 12 months. Midnight black core with a dark red black tinged hue. Pepper infused plum and liquorice aromas fill the nostrils followed by some dried herb and earthy fennel notes. Generous dark plum and liquorice fruits carry a juicy feel across the medium to full bodied palate with earthy vanillin cedar and peppered fennel elements lying underneath. Grainy, structural tannins with a medium to long pepper laced conclusion.
