2022 Bleasdale Adelaide Hills Chardonnay

Fermented and matured in French oak puncheons (25% new) for a period of 9 months. Brilliant pale straw colour with gleaming green tinged edges and a watery hue. Nosing offers up aromas of white peach, nectarine and pear infused with notions of biscuity oak, citrusy nougat and gun flint. Fleshy white peach and nectarine fruits carry an elegant creamy feel over a biscuity nougat, citrus and gun flint back drop. Finishes dry and flinty with lively acidity and a delicately creamed aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Clones 76 and Gingin, hand picked directly into a refrigerated container and chilled during transport back to the Bleasdale winery. Whole-bunch pressed direct to French oak puncheons (25% new) for fermentation on full solids including wild mlf; 9 months' maturation. Brilliant quartz-green. All the inputs have been precisely managed, notably the mlf. The bouquet and palate move hand in hand, white peach/nectarine and citrusy acidity running throughout, oak a mere servant. Drink by 2032.
