Established in 1978 Stonier Vineyards was one of the pioneers on the Mornington Peninsula and has recently returned to being locally owned and run after a period of corporate ownership. The wine was predominately fermented in a mix of French oak puncheons and barriques (10% new) for 10 months followed by some time in tank after blending. Brilliant very pale straw colour with highlights of green around the outskirts and a watery hue. Lifted aromas of white peach and dried honey show good intensity followed by some biscuity oak, citrusy nougat and subtle gun flint notes. Medium bodied fleshy white peach and nectarine fruits are interwoven with dried honey, citrusy nougat characters, light cashew and infusions of gun flint. Subtly creamed mid palate feel finishing dry and fresh with a refined and lengthy aftertaste.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
Alc. 13.5%
