2021 Rusden Chookshed Zinfandel

Impenetrable pitch black heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Potent scents of black plum, morello cherry and liquorice jump out of the glass followed by vanillin cedar, scorched earth and spicy cinnamon. Dense and rich the full bodied palate is layered with a thick coating of black plum, liquorice and morello cherry fruits. Spicy vanillin oak, scorched earth and cinnamon characters lie underneath. Plump and opulently textured it nonetheless manages to finish with noticeable freshness and no heat. Velvet smooth tannins with a long, lavish conclusion.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
