2021 Nicks Secret PE EOS Coonawarra Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon

Made by James Halliday’s 2024 Winemaker of the Year from the outstanding 2021 vintage, this classic Australian blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon is an absolute no brainer at $70 off it’s normal price.

A generously layered and well fleshed blend that marries depth and power with classic Coonawarra refinement.

Dense pitch black heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Elevated aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant and choc mint mingle with whiffs of liquorice, vanillin cedar, earth and subtle spicy mocha. Mid weighted, the palate is generously layered with rich blackberry, liquorice and blackcurrant fruits which carry a well fleshed, almost plush like feel. Spicy vanillin cedar, choc mint and delicate earthy mocha elements line the back half. Slightly dusty, fine grained tannins provide excellent structure. Showing impressive depth and power, it possesses classic Coonawarra refinement with a long, polished finish.

62/38% shiraz/cabernet. Fermented wild before spending 18 months in French oak, 40% new. Olives, herbs, blackcurrant and cedar. The flavours are one thing but it's the flow, the command, ands the authoritative push of the finish. This is top-shelf gear. Bacon-esque oak adds a final flourish to a beautifully pitched (and structured) red wine. Drink by 2044.
