2021 Nicks Secret OFPB McLaren Vale Shiraz

From a producer who specialises in sourcing Shiraz and Grenache from old vine single vineyards, this Shiraz comes from a special plot in McLaren Flat planted in 1952. Maturation took place in French oak puncheons for a period of 24 months and only the best barrels were selected for the final wine.

Rich, seductive and plush, this is old vine McLaren Vale Shiraz at it’s finest.

Dense inky black heart with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Heady ripe blackberry, liquorice, dark plum and dark chocolate aromas waft out of the glass followed by vanillin oak, earthy mocha and spice notes. Rich, concentrated and super plush, the full bodied palate is overwhelmed with opulent blackberry, liquorice and dark chocolate fruits. Dark plum, toasty vanillin oak, earthy mocha and spice elements then move in across the back half. Deep and showing substantial power, it possesses velvet smooth tannins and a long, flamboyant finish.
