Featured in one of our newsletters earlier in the year, this is a well known Margaret River Cabernet that regularly delivers great value at its $25 price point. At only $16.99 as a Nicks Secret deal this will surely prove to be one of the buys of the year. Don’t miss it!
Fruit for this wine was sourced from a selection of sites, most being around the Margaret River’s flagship Wilyabrup sub-region, close to the Indian Ocean. Maturation took place in a combination of French oak hogsheads and barriques (4% new) with the balance in one year and older American and French oak barriques for a period of 9 months.

Impeccably balanced and awash with rich red to black fruit this has all the attributes of great Margaret River Cabernet without the hefty price tag.

Midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Showing good elevation out of the glass are ripe red to black currant and mulberry aromas which meld into dusty cedar, black olive, tobacco and bay leaf notes. Rich red to black currant and mulberry fruits flood the mid weighted palate with cedary tobacco, dried herb and spice characters lingering underneath. Beautifully integrated tannin structure. Excellent depth and drive concluding long, ripe and savoury.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews.....
Classic Cabernet from the get-go. Sourced from a variety of sites around the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River, this is super drinking for the asking price. Decant to drink now or hold, either way, you're winning.
Expressive and layered with all things Cabernet. Be consumed by blackberries and cassis, Bay leaf and thyme, leather, black olives and cigar box. Cedar plays its part early and then calms to fuse with dark chocolate and fine spices that reach long on a savoury finish. Readily available, it is a thoroughly enjoyable wine that is well worth checking out and proof that you don't need to drop a bomb to drink well. Drink to eight years+

Q Wine Reviews

The fruit for this excellent value Margaret River Cabernet is mostly sourced from around the Wilyabrup sub-region. Deep maroon hue. Dry herbs, florals, cherries, chocolate, bay leaves, plums, licorice and cassis to be found on the nose and the flavours carry on to the palate. This has good intensity, focus and a layered texture before spice notes emerge on the palate. Nicely balanced, slightly grippy tannins and with very good length, this is a fine Marg River Cab with a good decade ahead of it. Drink 2023 – 2033.

Delivers spicy cardamom, clove and chai tea accents that are distinctive, with a core of blueberry, huckleberry and black currant flavors. Gains aromatic interest from rosemary, sage and laurel bay leaf accents, with velvety tannins and a touch of cigar box that lingers. Drink now through 2033.
