Formerly known as Powell & Son, Dave Powell, of Torbreck fame and son Callum have now decided to take separate paths on their winemaking journey. Dave rebranding his venture Neldner Road. The Herrmann vineyard is in the Kalimna subregion in the North-western Barossa with the 87 year old vines planted on yellow to grey clays over limestone. Maturation took place in new French oak barriques for a period of 24 months.

Dense inky black heart with a very deep dark red black hue. Heady scents of ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice waft through the olfactory senses with terrific potency. Some vanillin cedar, scorched earth, dark chocolate and pepper notes ensue. Completely engulfing the rich, weighty palate is a tidal wave of ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruit. Subtlety smoked vanillin cedar, fennel, earthy dark chocolate and traces of peppered dried herbs unravel across the back half. Boasting magnificent power, concentration and depth, it features an opulent texture and velvet smooth tannins. Finishes extraordinary long, plush and super seductive.
