2021 Neldner Road by Dave Powell Grenache Shiraz Mataro

A dense, power packed GSM.

This blend is predominantly Grenache (60%) from mature Barossa Valley Grenache bush vines, with 20% Shiraz and 20% Mataro making up the balance. The parcels are matured for 18 months in 2,500 litre French oak foudres prior to blending and bottling.
Dense black dark red core with a deep dark red hue. Dark raspberry, liquorice and dark chocolate aromas waft from the glass with impressive intensity followed by some vanillin oak, earthy mocha and spice notes. Rich, plush and densely concentrated the palate is saturated with opulent dark raspberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits. Spicy vanillin oak and earthy dark chocolate elements form the back drop. Power packed it has velvet smooth tannins and a long, sumptuous finish.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
