2021 Izway Bruce Shiraz

The Bruce was the first wine Izway produced and since it’s inception in 2003 it has always been unashamedly Barossan with rich fruit, power, depth, texture and structure all hallmarks of this outstanding wine. In 2021 near perfect conditions delivered wines with wonderful freshness, depth and personality, winemakers Brian Conway and Craig Isbel consider this to be arguably the finest Bruce they have released. Fruit was sourced from four different vineyards, three from Barossa Valley located in the sub districts of Koonunga Hill, Ebenezer and Moppa with the fourth vineyard situated in Moculta, Eden Valley.
Magnificent colour saturation featuring an impenetrable inky black heart and an equally deep black dark red hue. Soaring out of the glass are heady aromas of blackberry, liquorice, black cherry and dark chocolate which are complimented by smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and peppered earth like notes. Rich, thick and densely concentrated, the full bodied palate is awash with lavish blackberry, dark plum, liquorice and black cherry fruits which are married to smoky vanillin cedar, fennel, dark chocolate and peppered earth elements. Deep and powerful it possesses an opulent texture, sturdy tannin structure and a long succulent yet robust finish.
