2021 De Iuliis Single Vineyard Semillon

Tight and steely with searing acidity and impressive drive.

Brilliant water like colour with a distinctive green tint to the edges. Elevated lime and lemongrass scents carry a delicate oily steel like overlay with whiffs of toast, delicate green apple and flinty mineral notes also chiming in. Tightly wound and possessing a steely feel, zippy lemon and lime fruits underscored by searing acidity are trailed by green apple and steely mineral elements. Finishes dry and tense with impressive drive and a laser like focus.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.

The Garden vineyard is planted on the sandy flats of central Pokolbin, the grapes hand picked on 22 Jan, and whole-bunch pressed to tank for a slow cool ferment. It's a glorious semillon, unusually expressive for its age, both opulently rich and fruit-complex with Tahitian lime and Meyer lemon, backed by touches of nectarine. Drink by 2036.
