2021 Craiglee JADV Shiraz

Juicy, medium bodied Shiraz with a savoury, pepper laced finish.

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark red hue. Blackberry and liquorice aromas sail from the glass trailed by some spicy plum, smoked meats and peppered earth notes. Juicy liquorice and blackberry fruits carry medium body weight and ample flesh across the palate. Some plum, scorched earth and peppered meat elements ensue. Fine grained tannins with a savoury, pepper laced finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Even with just a dash of viognier, this comes out as a savoury offering and quite firm. Smoky, cedary oak to the fore. Underneath, dark fruit with licorice, malt with dried herbs and old potpourri. A suppleness across the fuller-bodied palate yet drying tannins and the finish clipped. Best with food. Drink by 2030.
