2021 Corymbia Rockets’s Vineyard Chenin Blanc

A portion of this wine was fermented and matured in seasoned French oak barriques for 7 months. Brilliant very pale straw colour with highlights of green to the outskirts and a watery hue. The nose features a mix of baked pear, green apple and delicate grapefruit followed by some quince and flinty mineral notes. Scrumptious pear and green apple fruits have a spicy back drop with some faint honeysuckle, quince and cinnamon also chiming in. Clean refreshing finish with crunchy acidity and an elegant yet lengthy aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Delicate, as usual, with a flood of green apple, white flowers, Turkish apricots, cheesecloth and beeswax. This has Australian bush, and wide open summer air, and saltbush, too. The phenolics have a bitter little kick in them through the finish ... but that's ok, I was waiting for it. The waxy, lanolin character is exactly en pointe for the variety. Drink by 2030.
