Matured for 18 months in French oak. Pitch black in colour with a deep dark red black hue. Heady scents of dark plum, liquorice and blackberry intoxicate the olfactory senses. Vanillin oak, earthy mocha and spice notes ensue. Rich, plush and powerful, the palate is engulfed with opulently textured ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum fruits. Thick and concentrated, it has notions of dark chocolate, vanillin oak, earth and spicy mocha extending across the back half. Velvety yet underlying sturdy tannin structure with a long seductive finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
