2021 Arila Gardens Gardens of Moppa GSM

Deep black red colour with a dark purple red hue. Nosing offers up aromas of dark raspberries, liquorice and plum which intermix with hints of vanillin confectionary, earth and light spice. Rich and plump, the mid weighted palate is awash with juicy dark raspberry, liquorice and black cherry fruits. Dried herbs, earth and vanillin spice lie underneath. Ripe slightly chewy tannins finishing long and succulent.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

55/29/5% grenache/shiraz/mataro from the Moppa subregion; aged for 14 months in seasoned French oak hogsheads. Abundant gingery spice and notes of raspberry coulis and ripe red plums from the get-go, supported by hints of purple flowers, cola, cherry clafoutis, jasmine and earth. Chocolatey notes join on the palate which again, has a floral facet as the wine's shape tightens with a savoury focus, brisk acid cadence and a pure fruit presence. Drink by 2029.
