2020 Vickery Watervale Riesling

John Vickery is a legend of the Australian wine industry and is widely acknowledged as the old master of Riesling. His illustrious career spans over 50 years at the likes of Leo Buring and Richmond Grove during which time he amassed more than 50 Trophies and over 400 gold medals. He was also responsible for the re-introduction of screw caps with his 1998 Richmond Grove Watervale Riesling.
Brilliant very pale straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Bursting out of the glass with great potency are lime and citrus scents followed by green apple, talc and flinty mineral notes. Intensely flavoured and as a result quite textural, the palate is layered with mouth watering lime and citrus fruits which sit over a back drop of orange rind, chalky talc and mineral characters. Finishes dry with crunchy acidity and a long powerful aftertaste.
