2020 Nicks Secret CMKY Barossa Shiraz
With a history stretching back to the early 1900’s, this esteemed Barossa producer is renowned for crafting decadently rich, old-school Shiraz. Retailing at $58.00 ex-cellar door and boasting several years of bottle age this is in prime drinking form, delivering exceptional value for those seeking a classic Barossa experience.
Extravagantly rich and voluptuously textured this is a quintessential example of old school Barossa Shiraz.
Impenetrable inky black heart with a deep very dark red black hue. Hedonistic aromas of dark plum, liquorice and mocha are sent wafting through the nostrils followed by some vanillin oak, earthy dark chocolate and spice notes. The rich, voluptuous full bodied palate is drenched with lavish dark plum, liquorice, scorched earth and mocha flavours. Also chiming in are spicy vanillin oak and dark chocolate elements. Concentrated, power packed and opulently textured, it possesses silky smooth tannins, gliding through to a long, plush finish. Super seductive stuff!
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

Other Reviews....
Fine Barossa Shiraz which spent eighteen to twenty-four months in oak barrels. The colour is an inky maroon. A beautifully crafted wine with a nose exhibiting notes of chocolate, cassis, blackberries, smoked meats and some deftly handled oak. There is bright acidity here, with exemplary balance and great length. A wine which is dense but dances across the palate. An exquisite example of the style and one which will provide immense pleasure over the next decade. Drink 2025-2035.
