2020 Joel Gott Barrel-Aged Chardonnay

Fruit was fermented in 50% new French oak and 50% 1 and 2-year-old French oak then matured in the same oak regime for 6 months to add complexity and texture.
Brilliant pale straw to straw colour with greenish tinged edges and a watery hue. Filling the nostrils are pronounced ripe peach, apricot and crème brulee aromas followed by hints of bacon fat, honeycomb and spice. Rich, full and creamy textured, mouth filling flavours of ripe peaches, apricot and honeycomb overlay a back drop of crème brulee, bacon fat and spice. Finishes long, round and luscious.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
