Other Reviews....
Here too the nose is largely dominated by notes of smoky mineral reduction, acacia blossom, citrus rind and soft wood. There is excellent intensity to the admirably pure middle weight plus flavors that exude an inviting salinity on the detailed and hugely long finish that presently displays a hint of sweetness that I don't expect to last. This is potentially terrific. Drink 2030+.

The 2020 Chablis Hommage a Louis Grand Cru has an already irresistible bouquet of beautifully defined yellow fruit, limestone, red apple and white peachy aromas. The palate is very harmonious, distinctly saline and quite powerful. The intense, spicy finish lingers in the mouth. This will surely vie with the Valmur for supremacy come bottling. Outstanding. Drink 2025 - 2050.

2020 marks the centenary of the first vintage of Les Clos made by Benoît Droin’s great-great-grandfather Louis (who was followed by Marcel, Paul, Jean-Paul and now Benoît. Les Clos is not mentioned on the label because of a current administrative spat where the Douanes (customs) and the INAO have a different opinion as to whether a particular plot should be classified as Clos or Valmur. With a bit of luck this should be resolved soon. In any case, the 2020 has a wonderful white fruit nose, really elegant and stylish. The grip here is exceptional with a spectacular intensity and no undue heat or sucrosity: a wonderful wine in the making.
