Mee Godard is one of the shining lights of Beaujolais, crafting uncompromising and sumptuous wines from her vineyards located primarily in Morgon, along with a tiny parcel in Moulin-a-Vent. Across this small estate most of the vines are very old, averaging 60 years plus, and the vines are tended organically with a clear goal of using biodynamic practices in the near future. Mee aims to produce wines with the capacity to age extremely well, and as such can benefit from good aeration, or preferably a few years in the cellar.

Other Reviews....
Aromas of sweet berries, cherries, spices, rose petals and orange rind introduce the 2020 Moulin-à-Vent Au Michelon, a medium to full-bodied, supple and layered wine with lively acids, beautifully refined tannin and a saline finish. It's an elegant wine from this sandy site. Drink 2021 - 2033.

Wait for the slow burn, as this stunning Moulin-a-Vent moves from pure red and black-cherry fruit to tannic and mineral depth. Very firmly structured, but this isn’t a jot too much at the powerful and very focused finish. Drinkable now, but best from 2023.
