Founded in 1797 Maison Louis Latour has survived the ages, and has always made it a point of honour to remain family owned. It is now run by the seventh Louis Latour who represents the 11th generation of the founding family, who like each generation before him, has worked hard to preserve the company’s unique heritage whilst ensuring the future with an ambitious and visionary spirit. The Latour family Domaine has been built up over the years and today covers 50 hectares of exceptional vineyards.

If every Chambertin was like this, we could give up our job. So much spice, earthy and meaty character, but in the end it's the amarena-cherry fruit that wins out. Enormous concentration and finesse. Staggering purity of flavor. Then comes the spectacularly uplifting finish that just doesn't want to stop. Drink or hold.

This is also firmly reduced so if you're for some reason tempted to open a bottle, be sure to give it a thorough aeration. There is again excellent volume to the mouth coating and powerful larger-scaled flavors that exude both hints of minerality and bitter pit fruit on the lingering, focused and balanced finale. This firmly structured effort will need to add depth over time, but the underlying material appears up to the task. Drink from 2032+.
