2020 Domaine Clarendon Old Vines Grenache

Deep dark red black tinged core with a bright dark red hue. Peppered ripe raspberry and cherry scents mix with red liquorice, hints of scorched earth and spice. Rich juicy raspberry jube, cherry and red liquorice fruits overlay a crushed rock, vanillin spice and pepper back drop. Robust feel with vibrant acidity and slightly chewy tannins. The long, bright finish generously endowed with ripe succulent red fruits.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.

Now picking Grenache a little earlier, and sealing with a DIAM cork. Good things happening here. Plum, blue and red fruit, meaty, yet perfumed. Juicy blood plum, fine ferrous tannin grip, savoury and a little spicy, really impressive texture, with hazelnut and blood orange acidity, firm and dry to close, umami and potpourri carry on a long gravelly finish. Really good. Drink 2022-2028+
