2020 Domaine Beranger Pouilly-Fuisse Premier Cru Pouilly

This wonderful expression of Chardonnay underwent 100% malolactic fermentation and 40% of the wine was aged in oak for 9 months. Brilliant pale straw to straw colour with a watery hue. Intense white peach, pear and nectarine scents overlaid with dried honey are trailed by wet slate and oyster shell like notes. Rich and mouth filling, the palate is layered with white peach, pear and dried honey flavours which show superb volume and texture. Subtle almond, wet stone and flinty oyster shell like elements linger through a fresh underbelly. Terrific power and balance with a long captivating finish.
