Very deep dark red black colour with a bright red hue. Jumping out of the glass are fresh dark raspberry, violet, plum and red liquorice scents which are intertwined with some provincial herb, earth and pepper notes. Brimming with freshness, the palate has a Nebbiolo like acid and tannin framework. Vibrant dark raspberry, plum, blueberry and red liquorice fruits are underscored by bright acidity and structured, slightly chalky tannins with infusions of Provincial herbs and peppered earth characters lying underneath. Finishes a touch grippy with an exuberant yet very bright aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc. 14%

Other Reviews….
The 2020 Blewitt Springs Grenache is perfumed, spicy, attractive... incredible. It’s long and plush, but the skeleton of tannins shows the longevity and precision of the style. There are notes of clove bud, raspberry pip, licorice, silty tannin and loads of exotic spice. And very fine saline acidity. I don’t talk much about acidity in these wines, but it pulses through the fruit and tannic framework… there’s blood and rose petals. I love this mightily. Drink 2022-2037.
