2020 Chalmers Pecorino

An excellent first up release of Chalmers Pecorino which spent 6 months on lees to enhance the wines textural attributes.
Bright pale straw to straw colour with a faint glimmer of green around the edges and a watery hue. Scents of pear, nectarine and red apple are trailed by spicy lime notes. Delicious juicy pear, lime and green apple fruits fill the mouth underscored by spicy fresh herb infusions and flinty characters. Texturally full yet fresh with a burst of vibrant acidity on the mouth watering conclusion.

Ample body and mouthfeel. Lots of florals too, almost into candied territory, plenty of citrus too. So aromatic. So lively. And yet a fair amount of presence too, helped a little by alcohol weight. Interesting. Smoky aftertaste, as a positive. Drink 2021 - 2023.
