2019 Yalumba Paradox Shiraz

One of Yalumba’s distinguished site wines, the Paradox is sourced from the Northern Barossa and is made with an emphasis on velvet like texture and the use of less new oak than many of its counterparts. Maturation taking place in French oak puncheons, with only 12% new oak employed, for a period of 18 months.
Impenetrable black as night core with a deep dark red black hue. Wafting out of the glass are dark plum, liquorice and blackberry aromas which are intertwined with smoky vanillin cedar, fennel and peppered earth notes. Rich, concentrated and lavishly textured the full bodied palate is awash with succulent dark plum, liquorice and black cherry fruits. Notions of smoky vanillin cedar, fennel, scorched earth and blackpepper ensue. Superb power with a velvety yet sturdy tannin structure concluding long, exuberantly fruited and peppery.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
