2019 Sidewood Shiraz
Matured in French oak for 15 months. Black as night core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Aromas of black cherry and liquorice infused with blackpepper are followed by some distinct smoked meat and graphite like notes. Medium bodied with an elegant cool climate feel, meaty dark to black cherry and liquorice flavours morph into scorched earth, spicy vanillin cedar, black olive, dried herb and blackpepper elements. Fine grained tannins with a meaty texture to the blackpepper infused aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Fruit from 3 estate vineyards and 12 clonal variations. Quintessential Adelaide Hills shiraz. Dark berries and aromatic garden herbs, swirling fruit with a classy Amaro bitters edge and fine tannins providing a gently chewiness. A terrific expression of region and variety.
