Aged for 20 months in oak. Impenetrable inky black heart with a deep dark red black hue. Scents of ripe blackberry, liquorice and black cherry flood the nostrils complimented by vanillin cedar, earth and blackpepper. Rich, bold black cherry, liquorice and blackberry fruits are underpinned by a firm tannin structure which lends a sturdy, muscular like feel to the back half. Vanillin cedar, scorched earth and pepper characters lie underneath. Generous and opulent it finishes long and structured.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
Fruit from the estate-owned Riddoch Run vineyard, matured for 20 months in French (25% new) and American (4% new) oak, the balance seasoned. A further 18 months in bottle prior to release. This is a wonderful wine. The black fruit is concentrated and dense, packed into the oak structure. It's all there, but it's in balance. The tannins are a highlight through the finish: they're fine and chalky, and provide a bit of chew and bounce. Nice. Drink by 2028.
