First released in 1988, Parker Coonawarra Estate is located at the Southern end of the Terra Rossa strip and typically produces elegant, long lived wines in a classic Coonawarra style. Fruit for the 2019 Terra Rossa was sourced from nine individual blocks, eight of them from Parker’s Estate Abbey vineyard with the balance coming from the Kidman Clytha Block 3. Maturation took place in French oak, 20% of which was new, for a period of 15 months.
Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. Elevated scents of blackcurrant and mulberry infused with mint are followed by cedary tobacco notes and spicy dried herbs. Rich and polished in its feel, the palate is layered with ripe blackcurrant and mulberry fruits which oversee a back drop of cedary tobacco characters, dried herbs and spicy black olives. Velvet like tannins show good underlying structure. Concludes long and generous.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews….
Don’t mind me, but I think this is a much better wine than the 2016 First Growth, and it’s 1/3 of the price.
Blackberry, blackcurrant, black olive and light spicy cedar oak and a little bit of mint. Medium-bodied, good bit of chew to the texture, savoury appeal via dark chocolate and black olive, crisp small berried acidity, iodine and a bit of ‘mineral’ feel on a finish of good length. Really like this. Classic feel, drinking appeal, and some gravitas. Drink 2022-2032+
