2019 Nicks Secret PE TOL Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon

Delivers a classic Coonawarra Cabernet experience for a miserly sum.

Deep midnight black heart with a dark red hue. Rising from the glass are pronounced blackcurrant and mulberry scents which intermingle with some vanillin cedar, tobacco, earth and bay leaf notes. Rich, fleshy blackcurrant and liquorice fruits are delivered with admirable concentration across the mid weighted palate. Elements of mulberry, earth, tobacco and subtle bay leaf lend further nuance. Sturdy, fine grained tannins with a long, deeply fruited yet eloquent finish.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.

(Tasted December 2020). Aged for 11 months in used French puncheons. Just like its sibling (***), *** represents excellent value. There are cassis and blackcurrants with baking spices in the mix, but this is very savoury and even a little stern at present. In time the raspy tannins will melt into the medium-bodied palate. Drink by 2033.
