A superb back vintage release made by winemaking maestro Ben Glaezter. Sourced from vines 70 plus years old with only the best parcels of fruit selected for the final blend, it was matured for 14 months in a combination of new and old French oak hogsheads.

A rich, seductive blend from one of South Australia’s most lauded winemakers at over 60% off!

Made from a mix of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon and 46% Shiraz it features an impenetrable inky black heart along with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Rising through the olfactory senses are pronounced aromatics of cassis, liquorice, choc mint and dark plum followed by some spicy vanillin cedar, earth, leather and pepper notes. Rich, expansive and concentrated, the palate has a dense layer of blackcurrant, liquorice and choc mint flavours flowing across it. Dark plum, spicy vanillin cedar and peppered earth elements ensue. Full in body and opulently textured it possesses velvety yet underlyingly sturdy tannins and a long seductive finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews….
Winemaker Ben Glaetzer has created something special from Langhorne Creek. Captivating aromas of leafy mint, black fruits, jubey red fruits and dark chocolate. The palate is velvety smooth with silky texture, immense concentration and sustained power, yet highly drinkable. Already a pleasure, but with 20 years ahead. A wonderful regional expression. Drink 2025-2045.

Under cork, this Cabernet Shiraz blend, a 54/46 split, from Langhorne Creek fruit, is an inky maroon colour. Plush and generous, this is ripe and rich with gorgeous aromas of blueberries coming to the fore. These are supported by notes of mocha, cocoa powder, blackberries, soy, licorice and coffee beans. Seamless but concentrated, there are abundant but ever-so-fine, silky tannins. The wine has serious length. A fifteen year proposition. Love it. Drink 2026-2041.

This is superbly fruited, with gorgeous complexity, showing dark fruit richness, toasted spice, cured meat, and cedar characters, along with a hint of dark chocolate. The concentrated palate delivers a plush texture backed by layers of chalky tannins, making it sturdy and structured with a persistent, satisfying finish. At its best: now to 2034.
