2019 Mr Riggs J.F.R. Shiraz

Formerly known simply as Mr Riggs Shiraz, this wine has been re-branded J.F.R. as a tribute to winemaker Ben Riggs father.
Impenetrable black as night colour with a deep dark red black hue. Opulent ripe blackberry, dark plum and liquorice scents flood the nostrils with notions of vanillin cedar, faint earthy dark chocolate and spice also evident. Cascading waves of rich blackberry, dark plum and liquorice fruits coat the palate with a voluptuous like feel. Lying underneath a velvety tannin structure are vanillin oak, subtle fennel and pepper nuances. Outstanding power with a very long, sumptuous finish.
Drink over the next 8-10 years.

Hand-picked fruit, matured 20 months in French (30% new) and American (5% new) oak. A massive wine (and bottle), opaque in colour, and equally densely packed into the mouth, with blackberry, dark chocolate and licorice; oak and ripe tannins filling any chance omission with yet more flavour. Strictly for those who love full-bodied wines. Drink by 2039.
