Epsilon is the project of Aaron and Julie Southern (Julie is a member of the Kalleske clan) who own vineyards in the Northern part of Barossa. As the familiar story goes with so many growers they sold off their fruit to larger wineries until a chance meeting with the Massena boys Dan Standish and Jaysen Collins. Under their guidance they convinced them to start up their own brand in 2004 and build a winery on the property. Sourced from a single vineyard, 2019 was a very low yielding vintage with small berry size resulting in wines with outstanding colour and concentration. Maturation takes place for approximately 12 months in seasoned French and American oak hogsheads with only the best batches making the final blend.

Velvety and voluptuously fruited, this is a dangerously drinkable Barossa Shiraz.

Dense inky black in colour with a very deep black dark red hue. Streaming through the olfactory senses is an intense bouquet of dark plum, liquorice and blackberry aromatics which intermingle with hints of graphite, spicy vanillin cedar and dried herb notes. Rich and plush with a more than ample power wave of flavour, opulent dark plum, liquorice and blackberry fruits are draped across the palate. Beautifully balanced it has velvet smooth tannins with elements of vanillin cedar, fennel, earthy dried herbs and spice underscoring the voluptuous fruit. Concludes long and sumptuous.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
