Deep dark red black toned colour with a dark red hue. Elevated aniseed and dark plum aromas mix with toasty oak, hints of leather and peppered earth notes. Mid weighted the palate sports generous dark plum and aniseed flavours over an earthy leather and peppered dried meat back drop. Nicely balanced acidity and slightly grainy tannins provide the framework. Concludes with a savoury blackpepper infused aftertaste.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.

Other Reviews….
Another reversal of percentages across 2 plots, from the less expensive to the pricier cuvée. In this case, hand-picked fruit from Old Hill (65%) and Shed Block (35%). Cold soaked for 6 days and given a courageous 18 days on skins. Racked to second-pass wood, smaller and larger formats, for 11 months. Firmly of the third–fifth glass luncheon idiom. Sassafras, sweet cherry, kirsch, terracotta. A clench of reduction, but nothing impinging on this mid-weight wine's eminent drinkability. Sappy, taut, vibrant and impressive enough. I like The Wild Place and its visceral joyousness more. Drink by 2030.
