2019 Domaine Louis Boillot Gevrey-Chambertin Champonnet Premier Cru
Other Reviews....
A pure and airy combination is composed by notes of essence of red cherry along with those of earth, pepper and a hint of the sauvage. There is both excellent richness and underlying tension to the tautly muscular flavors that flash good power and a bracing salinity on the impressively persistent finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. This is also quite good and worthy of interest. Drink from 2031+.

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champonnet unfurls in the glass with aromas of red berries and plums mingled with notions of raw cocoa, licorice and spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and refined, with fine, powdery tannins and a long, perfumed finish, it will reward some bottle age. Drink 2025 - 2050.

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Champonnets 1er Cru, which sees no new oak, is very delineated on the nose of intense blackberry and wild strawberry fruit, demonstrating fine mineralité at this early stage. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy on the entry and offering a mixture of red and black fruit laced with truffle and white pepper notes; very cohesive. This feels long and tender in the mouth. Excellent. Drink 2023-2038.

Neal Martin - Vinous
Rich concentrated purple, offering a heady nose, floral, peonies, lifted deep red fruit. A wealth of dense dark red fruit appears in the mouth, with some tannins behind, just enough to maintain the structure. Very well balanced.
