2019 Domaine Confuron-Gindre Echezeaux Grand Cru

The reputation of Domaine Confuron-Gindre is slowly spreading around the world now that they have starting allowing sales outside of private clients and a select few distributors in Europe. François Confuron-Gindre created the domaine in 1989 with his wife Claudine, and he has now been joined by their son Edouard, who has begun to refine the wines while continuing their structural and age worthy style.

From Les Treux and Rouges du Bas. Another imperial purple, 20% whole bunch. This is very heady, perhaps too much so, black fruit and walnuts. Massive tannins, not very Echezeaux like. No chance of using the ethereal or lacy descriptors here.
