Domaine Charles Audoin was formed in 1972 by Charles and his oenologist wife Marie-Francoise, starting with three hectares in Marsannay. Their holding has now grown to around 14 hectares that captures some of the best parcels in Marsannay. Their son Cyril joined his father in 2000, and is now in charge of both vineyard and winemaking activities for the Domaine. Cyril is increasingly focused on vineyard health, to deliver wines with pure varietal expression and a sense of place. They are among the most serious wines from the area, and while juicy and approachable young, have the capacity to age gracefully for many years.

Other Reviews....
You might easily think that this white Burgundy came from a much more famous appellation than Marsannay, thanks to the citrus-blossom nose with a delicate hint of oak, then the excellent balance of creaminess and mineral freshness on the medium-bodied palate.

The 2019 Marsannay Cuvée Charlie Blanc is lovely, offering up aromas of crisp orchard and stone fruit complemented by hints of nutmeg and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, textural and fleshy, it's rich but chiseled, with tangy acids and a mouthwatering finish.

Moderate reduction knocks down the fruit though it's clear that it is ripe. There is slightly better underlying tension to the delicious middle weight flavors that are also round and succulent before concluding in an equally saline-inflected finish that offers better depth and persistence. Note that this too should drink well young. Drink 2022+.
